View Full Version : Coloring silicone hoses?

I came across a killer deal on a Samco hose that I want to replace on my car, however it's the wrong color. Currently it's blue, and I want it to be black.

I've been thinking about ways to recolor it, but I'm kinda stuck. Paint won't stick (I think) and would chip off since it's so flexible. Perhaps dying it would work? But I don't think it's porous enough to pick up the pigments. I've been thinking I could just wrap it with something, but what?

Any ideas? I'm lost...

hmm I would just wait till I got a good deal on the black hoses. Unless you wrap them with some heat material I don't think anything is going to stick good to silicone.

Nothing will stick... wait for a black hose or live with blue.

A bodyshop tried painted one of mine when they ordered the wrong color... That REALLY won't work.
