In no particular order:
Johnny Cash (I like how his songs are usually simple but have a universal meaning)
Rage Against the Machine
The Animals
Killer Mike (Do not sleep on King Kong)
Spice 1 (the first 3 albums)
Scarface
Soundgarden
Black Flag (I was at a chinese food place when I was in high school and they had a record store next door playing some of their stuff. Had to get it)
Bun B (Been listening to this guy since he was on the Menace II Society soundtrack)
Covers (I know this isn't an artist, but I like searching the net for interesting covers of songs from artists you wouldn't expect. Like Rancid doing the Gilligan's Island theme or Pennywise singing Stand By Me.
