this one takes the cake. Early porsches before they started dipping the whole shell in Zinc in the mid 70's, would rust in a few places, but this is insane. This car is in the U.K. and this I guess is the norm for a rustoration. This guy is in the process of restoring it.

Thats not so bad... I have a 69 fj40 project that the floor is GONE from rust and rear wheel wells are toast... Rust sucks

My FJ40 was a rust bucket too, it started life in Utah, so it didn't have a chance. I ended up selling it to a guy in Alaska that was going to swap in a Duramax diesel and Rockwell military axles!

My old bug has some rust too, but thats a positive, I'm going to build it into a bracket racer, every pass down the strip it gets lighter!

BTW I have an 85 FJ60 for sale cheap, lots of new and rebuilt stuff, PM me for details if you know anyone interested

I did all the hoses, radiator, water pump T-stat a few years ago, with all toyota parts.
rebuilt steering linkage with OME dampner
Rancho shocks
Cat last time it was smogged
And someother stuff
Tires have great tread, but are a few years old as it doesn't get driven much
Mechanically its a tank, It drove out to Burning man and back a few years ago, non stop
It needs a header from Man-a-fre or the manifold resealed as its leaking
It has some roof rust, underside is dry, but has a pretty good sized hole in the A-pillar on the pass. door. I got it from a chic who lived by the beach in Del Mar
