Ok so a while ago i bought the Stoptech Stage 2 brake upgrade. I went to the track a couple of times and the pads worked great. Now its time to change them so i ordered the Hawk HPS for the front and the back. My question is about the wear censor. I have a 04 GTI. The front pads don't have the wear censors on them. With the stoptech upgrade i didn't notice if the wear censor was used or if their was one. My question is will i need to get different brakes because they dont have wear censors on them?

nope, if the wear sensors are bypassed, just cut the wires off of the pads and install.

didnt you install them? Either you did or did not bypass the sensor so the light stays off. Its easy to tell if you didnt do the install, just look for 2 wires connecting to the inside pad. If there is a wire that goes to itself and not the brake pad, then you found the bypass.

I also have the stoptechs and they must of bypassed the sensor on install. If you don't have a brake pad light then that is what they did. The just cut the wires off of the pad and grounded them together.

No i didnt. I had a place in Long Beach do it because i was getting new lines and fluid and at the time i didnt have to tool to bleed the brakes.

I took off the wheel this morning and their was no wires at all. So im thinking they bypassed it. Is their a posibility that their was no sensor to begin with?
