Yesterday I saw yet another Bimmer prototype on the 405N as I was driving through Irvine. It almost looked like 6 series size. It was all black with 2 different rear tail lights. The right rear looked like some APC wannabe for a Honda Civic and the rear left looked like something else. The weird part was the hood because it seemed to not fit the application and then it looked as if someone beat the sides of the hood so they would be close to the front quarter panels where they seemed to be riveted. I thought it was a Bimmer, and then when I got in front of it I saw the headlights which were a dead give away.

In the past I've seen a couple of others as well. A 3 series with no emblems on it. I don't mean they were blacked out like some show car. There wasn't any identifying BMW logos anywhere except the traditional split grill.

Does any one know about a BMW test facility in the OC? I know there was one in Agoura, but that was up past the valley. Then again, that was quite a few years ago......

perhaps some shady testing going on at El Toro MCAS (ex MCAS that is..)

I know they have driving events out there sometimes, and it's pretty much one of the only wide-open tarmac spaces we've got around these parts. it's also just a hop skip and jump from the Irvine dealership

nope. not us doing our "shady" testing....(nevermind that we test more autos than all the car magazines combined)
