Been an R owner since '03, and have only ever owned volvos since i started driving...a S40, tehn a C70, followed by my current R -- Talked to US Bank today about the buyout of my car.

It's a 4-yr lease, 15k per year that is up in January '08, and the blue book value on my car right now is around 23k [04 R, GT, loaded minus nav, 56k miles], so i assume that itll be around 20-21k by '08. They want 27k for the car, which is unbelievable. Since ive got 56k on the car, I wont be driving it much at all over the next 8 months. Regrettably, I won't be able to do anything more to the car, so I'm looking for stock parts right now so that I can prepare it for return. I'll repost the list in the Classifieds section, but soon i'll be looking for:

'04 tail light lenses [i will trade you for my tinted ones if you'd like to do that instead]
Stock '04 S60R exhaust system

and probably a couple other small items that i've overlooked. So if you know anyone that wants ot get rid of those things, i'll be lookin' in a few months.

i'll probably be selling my evolve springs which I never got a chance to put on, as well as my brake lines, etc....

Looking at S4's, M3's, and Caymans right now as its replacement :/

Man thats too bad..... sorry to hear that. Well have you driven the new 9-3 V-6 turbo?? In sweden they are pulling almost 350Hp out of the motor on stock internals... and its still swedish.

lotus elise;)

i seriously thought of that. :P but it's a little impractical. i don't NEED 4-doors anymore, but i need to fit more than 2 people in my car.

Glad you enjoyed your stint with the volvo... once they are in your blood you tend to come back to them.

+1 DO IT!

not practical for me right now :/ i need the extra seats/space to throw crap

i tend ot choose my cars on emotion, with little regard to performance or reliability...though I do seem to choose hte performance oriented cars.

ive always wanted an E36 M3, when i first started driving..but never got it..i think the E46 is absolutely stunning. I've pretty much got my mind made up...

still 8 months to go, so we'll see. but more than likely it'll be an M3. SMGII. Alpine white.

all the BM's ive driven have been great -- E36 325, my girlfriend's X3, the X5...they seem ot be tighter and suit my driving style better. never tried an M3, though, unfortunately. so if anyone w/ an SMG wants to meet and trade cars for a couple mins... ;)

I lease mine too. I got a good deal through US Bank too. If it is BMW that you want then go for it. You have to ask yourself what makes you happy. You have to live with it.

I have a more then 8 mouth to go but then it comes time I will have to deside if Iam going to buy it or not. Thats if I dont put to much money into it, which is easy to do. I like the EXIGE S but Iam not paying 800 mouth or more. For the same money I can have builted R.

Anyways good luck man.

thanks.

USBank wants too much to buyout, and so, i'm undoing everything i've done to the car. sincei m spending money to un-do mods, that's like my commitment to NOT keeping it ,even if they give me a decent deal...because more will be spent RE-doing them... i've already sold off my parts that i havent put one yet, so i dont want to spend more money if i keep it.

E46 M3 is what I want :P hopefully I'll be able to get one -- an exige or elise is a bit too impractical for me at this point, as is the cayman, so that's also out.
