View Full Version : Prototype '08 M5?

northbound on the 215, i swear i saw a prototype '08 M5. about 9pm

it was flat/matte black, with all kinds of chalk markings on it. no badge, no quad tips [it had 2 single tips on opposite sides of the car], and it had side gills, and no plates.

I saw 2 of them abotu a week earlier on Angeles Crest. It sounds like one of them sill looks the same.

The BMW guys in the Crest work for the Emissions Lab. Usually they're vehicles already in production. But once in a while you catch them rocking a Proto. They wave if they see you all the time

And there all flat black? Those are the ones I saw.

Not usually flat, but they only drive black up there for some reason. Flat is different. Usually the protos are taped up and have covering on sections of them

All flat with some tape and verious little things done to them. The cars sat nice and had some rather large wheels. nothing rediculous though.

i just figured it was a test car because it was marked up with chalk and instead of quad tips it jsut had 2 big 'ol single tip barrels on either side.

huh?

i believe there's subtle body style changes for '08, but maybe not enough to give it another designation. [like the E90 and E92 3 series]
