Registration is current through March 2008. I just renewed it and had a smog check at the same time.

I've recently replaced the alternator, A/C belt pulley, ignition module, MAF, fuel pressure regulator, tie rod ends, and coolant reservoir. The oil cooler lines and just about all the vacuum lines have recently been replaced.

The last time I checked, the average asking price on Autotrader.com was $7900. KBB, Edmunds, and NADA give a price range of $5800 (poor condition, private party) to $9800 (excellent condition, dealer retail). I rate this car to be in very good condition.

I'm looking for a car for my mother in law, silver a4 tip to be exact.
How would you rate the reliability on this car as a DD?
I'm just worried about the K04 and high mileage.

It's good for a DD, and was used as such by my wife until we got the family truckster.

The wife started driving it about 25k after I put the turbo on, so it's been babied.

IMHO, the engine and turbo on an automatic tranny car get much less abuse than in a manual tranny car.

The only real common problem that I'm aware of in the 99.5 cars is the turbo dying because of the old style oil line (fixed in K04 upgrade) and the ignition module (replaced with updated version).

I'll PM you my number if you want to give me a call and come check it out.
