I'm thinking about picking up a Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS wagon as a daily driver. Get rid of the 16V...whaaa?
Any informed opinions of the RS or nods to good Subaru sites would be greatly appreciated.
TIA.

Thanks.
My friend has 2 Subarus and swears by them. Not a problem with either and his Legacy has 70,000+ miles on it.

The RS would be a good commuter and will get the job done. But if want the power and plan to do some modding... I'd go with at least the WRX. WRX Wagon... :D::

I recently got an 05 WRX Wagon and couldnt be any happier. My wife also has an 05 Outback and that thing is sweet!
As far as links, a good place to start is www.nasioc.com (http://www.nasioc.com) then head to the mod sites. Lon already mentioned www.awjunkies.com (http://www.awjunkies.com) there is also www.scoobymods.com (http://www.scoobymods.com) and www.wrxfanatics.com (http://www.wrxfanatics.com) and www.wrxlinks.com (http://www.wrxlinks.com) is a really good site to learn about the Impreza line and more about the WRX (if that is the route you choose).
As stated earlier, if you are wanting to get into modding there are plenty of options for the RS (which is actually called TS if you get a wagon). But as with the Euro world, there seems to be more options for the WRX and WRX STI.
My dream is to get a wrecked 05 STI and put some of those components into my wagon (we can all dream right?)
Good luck with whatever you choose, and feel free to hit me up for more info. Also, there are quite a few Subaru enthusiasts to talk to. Chris is the guy that has modded his WRX up to the hilt :smokem: and he is very knowledgable about this stuff.
I think I need a new sig, anyone want to hook a brotha up? Adam

Hey thanks for all the info...very helpful...
As far as modding, it'll be a commuter so it would probably only see wheels and tires.
When the new GTI comes out, I'll get rid of another car and pick up a GTI with that 2.0 FSI turbo engine...in white...
And about my 16V, I'm taking it to VW Specialties next week to get it into selling shape. I'll take my Borbet Type C's off, put new tires on the BBS RA's, and post it.

I've got two WRX's and absolutely love them!!! The RS is a great product for a daily driver, but you'll probably soon wish you had more power, so if you can afford the extra loot, go WRX. The wife's wagon ROCKS...and is perfect for everything and anything.

...but if I'm going to get an automatic, wouldn't the turbo be a waste?
And if I got a WRX, that might put the future Mk5 GTI purchase in jeopardy.
