It depends. There are some incompatible apps. I was using Photoshop 5.5, and after SP2 it died. I had to uh... "get" Photoshop 7...

With that in mind, I haven't had any other SP2-related problems since I installed it.

Photoshop 5.5 is almost 6 years old, which makes it a n antique almost. Thats like wondering why you can't put a bigger carburetor on your 1.8t lol. Five versions have been released since then. And if you had to "uhh... get" a new copy. Why wouldn't you get the new one? Photoshop CS

SP2 works pretty good so far

i got it on couple systems, and couple that i dont got it on
seems to function just fine for my use

I don't recall saying anything about "wondering why" it didn't work. In fact, it was pretty immediately obvious to me why it didn't work.

The thing is, I don't particularly like the changes that Adobe made to the Photoshop User Interface. So, I'm still evaluating whether I want to keep using Photoshop at all or select a different, cheaper tool, that will still do what I need.

Photoshop CS, from what I can tell, is a bit too much effort to, uhh... get. I heard something about an activation and whatnot.

So, I may just go back to using Paintshop Pro, which does everything I really need anyway.

Paying $600 to find out you hate how it works, and not being able to return it, is worse.

well my I-tunes has issues with SP2, but everything else works better on it
