I have a clicking noise coming from my engine. i have no idea what it is, i think it's an injector but i can't say for sure. i can only hear it at idle (it's gets drowned out by the intake and exhaust above idle) it sounds like it's coming from the front of the engine right about the injector area and it clicks with the rpms so it's something timing related (hence the thinking it's injectors). i'm going to replace my spark plugs this weekend and i have a replacement injector coming. any thoughts or ideas? i can meet somewhere if you want to hear it in person. let me know what you guys think!

i should note that it started about 25,000 miles ago after i ran an injector cleaner liquid through my tank. it wasn't properly diluted with fuel so that may have caused something.

could it be pinging/pre-detonating?

i noticed when I ran an injector cleaner over 5k miles ago, my engine started knocking at WOT. I had to turn down my timing on my revo chip and once it was out of my car's gas it ran fine.

i've only ever run premium especially when the turbo was in. and it was 25K miles ago. and it's only at idle that i hear it. i may try and bribe mike to take a listen :)

it's just annoying b/c at street likes i feel like i'm driving a 40 year old car that's not well taken care of.

if you think you've got a bad injector, try putting the tip of a long screwdriver on the injector and put your ear up to the handle, you should be able to hear any differences in cycling.

that's a great idea. i was thinking about borrowing a stethoscope or something like that, i never thought to use a screw driver.
