Tranny swap??

I have a 2000 Jetta 1.8t Automatic.

I want to go to a 5 or 6 spd manual To I can make it super fast!

Is it even possible or even worth the money to do?

Cuz it's either this or I will buy myself another car that is stick and have 2 VW's. So let me know guys cuz I hear that it's possible and that it's a NIGHTMARE!

depending on the existing mods you have on your auto, it might be te best decision to sell it and buy a manual.

I did my swap because i had already undergone a ton of work on my tiptronic gti before going to 5 spd. I had a full paint job with shaved moldings and rear badge as well as a ton of bolt ons.

cheaper and more practical to trade her in and start from scratch with a manual. for sure

Yeah, cuz I have some mods....ABD racing FMIC, HKS BOV, Full turbo back exhaust with down pipe no cat, CAI.


I also bought a 2004 Gli trunk lid and it's getting shaved, I got a BOSER hood extension, Full oettinger body kit, badgeless grill, and new rims on the way.



So I think i'm gonna keep my Jetta and save for a R32 and TURBO it!!!!
