i tried to install my short shifter yesterday but the whole shifter assembly is completely different. as you look at a tt short shifter its a one piece assembly. the shifter thats in the car is two pieces and use nothing but bolts to connect everything. does anyone have any suggestions?\
this is the thread i used for my DIY http://www.ottawa-vdubbing.com/forums/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=13399 but my shifter assembly is in two peices in the car with part of it under a black box that i have no clue what is goes too.

Post up some pics.

Some people only change one part of the short shifter as only one piece is significantly different.

What transmission do you have and are you sure you didn't pick up a short shifter from the 225 tt. That one has a 6 speed transmission and its shifter is different from the 5 speed shifter.

mkiv cars have two different types of transmisions, yours is the earlier version and you can not use the tt short shifter. If you go to neuspeed's site it shows you the differences
