But we dont promote the exploitation of women

I'm not so sure that's the image we want to have at our events.
Models are fine but the contests tend to be kinda sleazy. You have to keep in mind that we try to be family friendly. We know we aren't perfect but we try to make it a good event for the enthusiasts in training.
it's not soapbox, it's called pinewood derby..
I'm thinking for the toyo tire give-away, we'll have a competition to see who can jump their RC car the furthest on a pre-built ramp...
must be a 1:10 scale touring car chassis with no long travel modifications... ;) aka carnage!
That or r/c car demolition derby.... ;)

How about a doggie competition!?!?!?!?! Better than a bikini competition...
How about a go kart track? At one of those Mazda "Rev it Up" events they had go karts for like 10 dollars...
SCE Dunk Tank? Another good way to raise $$$ for the cause... I'll even get in it - if the water is clean!

Also, what about fastest pit competition? I've seen that before at like Dubfest or something in like 1999.

There's just something weird about the boob-flashing smiley. I don't know what it is, but it's creepy.
I feel like the RC car thing may be too exclusive (not everyone has one, etc.). Along the lines of skateboarding, maybe a stationary wave machine? Good food vendors (fish tacos, HOLLA!).

how about a dyno? i don't know i think that would be fun. There's a group in Michigan called MIVE they had APR come to their big once a year gathering and they were giving chip reprograms for free (they had a time limit of 2 hours but still fun) you could buy the whole thing.

We should have a couple polls and take the top people from each to get dunked. One with a bunch of nominated users and one with all mods and admins. This could be everyone's chance to get back at eachother.

If we can get the generator, Eric (with the 5 series) has tables and speakers. I'm sure we could convince him to bring the equipment and then if we got a few people to contribute some different types of vinyl, then we could have all types of music.
I think we should make sure we have a food option.
generators can be rented for a couple hundred a day for something that can power what we need I think.

No offense, but Fusion would really have to know what they are getting into. They would have to be able to provide food for probably more than a thousand people on demand. It would probably be better to find a company that is used to doing this type of an event.
Kevin wouldn't be interested anyway. They aren't setup to cater like this. No portable hot plate/burners etc. It would have to be pre-ordered which won't work =\.

Just a few thoughts on food.
There is a trolley stop at Qualcomm, so people that don't want to drive can just hop the trolley westbound and grab stuff.
If in/out privileges are allowed then there's lots of food closeby, so at the least maybe us locals can put together a google earth map for non-locals and have it available.
Perhaps try to sell the event to local food vendors that may have a mobile setup? If possible, here's a few that come to mind. This is just brainstorming, so I don't even know if it's feasable.
- In and Out mobile burger truck
- L&L Hawaiian Barbecue
- Chipotle
- order a bunch of pizza and sell per slice
Again, I don't know if these places charge just to show up but since they'll be making money off their food maybe try to sell the idea that this GTG draws a big crowd and let them decide if it's worth it or not to show.
anyway, that's my 2:30am braindump. I'm gonna go watch some DVR'ed shows.

Depending on the number of cars, things like portable BBQs may be limited by space. I don't think the venue has a problem with it so its a judgment call. Some people aren't ready to trade in new car smell for carne asada smell.

I like the bouncy house for the kids. You can usually find them for $100 to $150 bucks delivered, setup, and picked up.
Since it's going to be hot, we should have seperate food and drink vendors (Palomar Water?).
If there's a water spigot available, I could build a walkthrough mister that we could setup to keep people cool.
