I have a HKS SSQ it is loud as F**K haha.
Today I just got the Greddy Type RS an it's VERY VERY quiet.
Why is that? and how can I make it LOUD like my SSQ????

dunno how to make the greddy louder...you chipped? do you also have an intake of some sort, short ram or cold air intake? those could increase sound volume...not sure tho. i too have the hks bov. i love that thing

NO chip, But I have a Cold air intake, sillicone piping, FMIC and other mods, alot of air coming to the engine / BOV haha, I LOVE MY HKS. But I just thought the Greddy Type RS would be loud also, I'm actually disapointed and making a phone call to GREDDY, any other suggestions on how to make it louder???

they make the noise they are desinged to make. the only thing i can think of would be putting some kind of a whistle or a horn to change the sound dynamics.

I have the RS on my car...not sure why anyone would like some crazy chirp everytime they shift. Seems like it'd get annoying after a while.

you guys throwin CEL's? any reason why your going that route over a dv other than sound?

i've had my HKS on for over 4 years now, haven't gotten a CEL. only reason i got my bov was the sound. no performance gains with either a bov or dv.

I haven't had a maf in two years, so it doesn't bug me. Not sure why anyone would run it on a stock turbo other than for that 'whoooty woooo!'

I have the Greddy Type RS, the adjustment on the top will determine how hard the valve will open and close. If you tighten down the threaded bar in the center after you loosen the lock nut it will get louder. Keep in mind that you can over tighten and damage the diaphram so keep that in mind. I would recommend playing with it until you like the way it sounds. Good luck.

How far down down I go??

well if you haven't messed with it yet, I would say about 5 or 6 threads to start and work your way down to your desired chirp. If you are cautious to go 5 or 6 then start with one at a time but I started 6 in and went down. I think I went a total of 12 but I am also chipped and all sorts of other bolt ons.
