so the other day i noticed that only my driver's side headlight was working and that the highbeam indicator was on when my lights were not on highs
so i took out the bulb and noticed that connector that has the wires, the little pronges inside were all bent and weird and it looked like some white and black dust was in there (almost as if something kinda fried or burned =[)
im afraid it may be that the wires may have fried...does anyone know what this maybe
or anyone who knows how to repair this
please your help is appreciated it
thanks

where is the dust at? is it in the bulb or the connector? peel back the wire covering and check the wiring and make sure the wires arent hardened and cracking, thats the first sign that the wireing is getting baked, are they the stock bulbs or are the aftermarket HID's also?

the dust was mainly on the connector but there was alittle white dust on the bottom end of the bulb
there not stock
but there not HIDs either
i have those bulbs in for at least a year and a half and never had a problem...
i was looking on ECSTUNING.com and they have some repair wires for the headlight assembly...if the wires are baked do you think those would be the wires to replace them...

yea, you just have to be a little careful when your doing it. track the wires back to where it isnt baked anymore, and make your patch there. ensure that you use the right connectors and heat insulation also. some heat shrink around the connectors is always a good way to seal up the connection. if you need/want some help with it let me know ill pm you my number and can answer any questions an if your local i can come by and take a look

Bulbs burnt your connector. You can pick a new one up at Kragen for $4~ and replace it yourself. If you are going to use aftermarket bulbs, spend the extra cash and get good ones like Sylvannia (sp?) or even better... get HID's

true, i had cheap hyperwhite knock offs and i went thru at least 3 harnasses before i gave up and went back to stock. and dont bother with the socalled "hi temp" harnasses. They gave out just as quick, but i liked the smell. kinda like bbq...cept instead of meat it was plastic.
