Looking to get myself back into and get my girlfriend started surfing. I am looking for a (or two) cheap Longboards that are water tight and fairly ding free. They don't need to be pure beauty's but no p.o.s please.
If anyone has anything like this that they just want gone or want a few bucks for, I am by no means rich but am down to woek something out. Hell I will even take one of those foam boards. ;)
Thanks a bunch!!

You just might want to look for a used Morey Doyal (not sure if that is spelled right), which is a surf board made out of boogie board materials. If she falls on it, the impact will be less on her and she can perl the thing all day and not damage the board or herself.

I learned on a doyle, then got a glass board, then went to riding my dad's old school Dewey Webber "Performer" SuperScoop, then to a 6'5" Lost shortboard, then to a big Becker, and now...all I want....is one of the small short-doyles!
Last 4th of july, about the most fun i've ever had surfing was at 3 Arch Bay private beach, taking that thing on shorebreak waves was so rad.
Also, a good thing about foam boards is that you tend to get to the beach a lot faster, not having to worry about dinging your board has it's advantages

Haha...I learned on a Dolye too. You can do whatever to it while you are learning to stand up and balance. Ride the white wash up to the sand...who cares. I think it's the best way to learn. You can probably find a used one for cheap and just wash it off. No need to worry about dings or getting waterlogged.

So they are called Doyles huh. Yeah, I have been looking into them. there are some on craigslist, but not many in the area.
Also, "wtd" stands for wanted.
