So I am doing my brake pads on my MKIV 20TH GTI this weekend and I need the tool for the rear calipers. So will anyone let me borrow theres this weekend? I know nobody knows me personaly so if no one chimes in on this thats cool. I am in el cajon so the closer the better.
Or does anyone know if PepBoys or something has one to rent?

Thanks in advance.

autozone or kragen will let you borrow the tool....call ahead to make sure they have loaner tools...they will ask you to put down X amount of money and will return most (all) your cash after you give it back.

Hey thanks for the info. I appreciate it. So will I be renting the same tool that Parts4VW sells on their website or will it be just a universal brake caliper kit? Anyone know?

don't know what tool you speak of on their website (nor will i actually go on the website to see) but the tool they generally have is like this one (http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=40732)

Are you talking baout the little cube thing to screw a ratcheting caliper back? I don't know if VW's have them in the rears, I never owned either of VW's long enough to put rear brakes on!! lol

If thats it, they are like $5 at any parts store.
