Last night, I'm driving home and my coolant warning light comes on. I immediately pull over, and pop the hood to find that I was a little low on coolant. It wasn't too bad, and I was almost home, so I just put in a couple bottles of water and drove home safely. Today, I drove a different car to the dealership, picked up some G12, went home, put it in and everything was good. Started driving the car and went and ran some errands. Everything was fine, coolant temp, oil level, everthing perfect. I go to my gf's house and park. As soon as I get out, I hear a "pouring" sound  I knew it wasn't good. I look under my car and coolant is pouring out like no other, from under my car and through the skidplate. Well, my car is now sitting in front of my girls house until saturday, where my brother will have it towed to his friends shop, and they will fix it.

Any ideas on what it could be?

This sucks btw :(

Hmmmm.....

the coolant temp sensor o ring often deteriorates and the sensor goes bad - and coolant can leak from here but i dont think it'll cause it to spew

but for preventative purposes it may be good to change the sensor now (available @ purems or the dealer)

other than that... just the obvious lines

the first time i replaced the sensor i didnt do it right and the car over heated and i lost all my coolant

after refilling it would leak out like crazy... practically a whole gallon of straight coolant...- then i refilled it with water... only a bit more leaked then it stopped, but it looked like an even mixture

check all the hoses, check the thermostat housing, check the radiator, etc

If it isn't something obvious like a busted hose or cracked coolant reservoir, I'd bet it's the water pump giving out.

Well my coolant reservoir has been cracked for about a month now. It's not leaking bad but they tend to happen easily with the Audis. Check under the reservoir for a big hole?
