If you guys have heard of Synapse, then you know of their missing link. They have just released their Synchronic BOV and we have a few to sell but they're going pretty fast. There is much more to this than just a normal valve. It uses an innovative push and pull type valve without using any rubber diaphrams. A solid piston is used and when on boost it keeps the valve closed and with the vacuum it pulls it open to release the excess pressure. This valve can be used to recirc or for those of you that dont want recirc you can get the optional anti-stall valve which keeps the air from leaving the valve quickly and stalling out your car. Heres a video so take a look:

I saw this thing on youtube and was wondering how it was different from the forge piston diverters or any of the others.

It looks like a nice piece of hardware but I was put off by them talking about it as if it were a breakthrough.

actually looks like a really nice design

supposally designed for MAF based cars, so would be good setup on a MK4

someone get one and see how it works

Hey everyone. The Synchronic BOV is piston actuated, but it actually has a valve in place to maximize flow. It is also setup as a pull-type, which means that it will stay closed under boost under boost no matter what. So that if you lose a vaccum line in the middle of a race or burn through one, you'll get compressor surge, but your BOV doesn't now act like a pop-off bleed valve that is limiting your boost and power.

The biggest complaint about most piston actuated BOVs is that they start to become less responsive over time. And for this reason, we've formulated our own lubricant that we use specifically on the BOV and wastegate to keep them as responsive today as the first day you installed it.

There are quite a few features that I've designed into the BOV below that would be useful for one application or another. The biggest one is probably the ability to replace whatever BOV you have now without having to do any fabrication. You can use it as a BOV or a DV. But by design, it works best as a DV, you may actually see an improvement in mpg, as some early users have reported back to us.

User manual: http://www.synapseengineering.com/ar...bov_manual.pdf (http://www.synapseengineering.com/archive/support/synchronic_bov_manual.pdf)

Synchronic was designed to be a fast acting BOV that eliminates compressor surge and has these features:
*$219 Limited retail price
*Atmospheric or recirculated discharge
*Retail kit includes 1.25" recirc fitting and stainless weld-on pipe flange
*No need to adjust or figure out which spring to use for your application
*Interchangeable mounting flanges so that you don't have to refabricate when switching from another BOV
-HKS SSQ/TypeII mounting flange
-Greddy Type S/R, HKS racing mounting flange
-Aluminum Weld-on flange
-Tial 50mm mounting flange (available in 3 weeks)
-1" inlet & discharge hose-end fittings (available in 3 weeks)
*Anti-stall valve is now available for MAF cars with an atmospheric dump
*An overboost protection circuit is in development that is already built into the BOV

We have a few more cars that made the switch and everyone that has switched from the "other" valves have been very happy.
