Now everywher I go they want to charge me between 350 and 450 to install them. Does anyone no where I can get them install for a lot cheaper? Or if anyone has a garage and the tools to do it let me know I have some cash. Also I just want the front springs out on only just for now. Thanks!

$450 for front springs? Yeesh!

A local dubber did my entire coilover setup for $100. Just ask around and I'm sure someone would do it for you for a case of beer and some cash; and you should do both the front and the rears if you can at the same time to make it easier (pretty much so you don't have to pay and do it twice)

Try Walter Wong in LA. He will usually work something out for you if he knows your a SoCal SAAB Club member. You also may want to PM Dasaabguy as he may have some hookups as well.

And if that fails then try

XAASH on the SoCal SAAB Club forums.

What 9-5 is it? LPT or Aero? Hope it's an Aero wagon with a manual tranny, there are a few. :tup2:

If it's a 2001, do the Aero suspension upgrade (thicker f/r sway bars, shocks/struts, springs).

An ECU upgrade with existing hardware should give a bump.

just the LPT. a sedan as well. thanks for the info! i will look into all that and inform my bro. what ecu upgrade do you recommend?

Cool Trisaab... let me know how it works out.

As for the ECU I would say to look for a SQR or Nordic Ecu upgrade. Someof the bigger things he can do to eliminate the turbo lag is going to be an SMBC.

SMART Performance SMBC (http://smartperformance.net/index.php?cPath=26&osCsid=2ca1f7b0e24497b24c60eccd66da1abb)

This will give him full boost in all gears (without raising peak boost). THis will aid in initial take off and throttle response. The other thing to do is look at doing a TD04HL-15T upgrade from a 9-5 Aero or Viggen or 9-3 SE HOT.

THe LPT motor is essentially the same as the Aero motor just detuned and smaller turbo (basics.....its a little more but not much).

Before you go the ECU route you need to get a few things in line first and this is the order I would handle them in.

1. Suspension -- Koni Setup is prefered
2. Exhaust 3" Cat back (custom or something from Genuinesaab.com)
3. Intake and Big Cobra Intake Pipe from an '05 Aero 9-5
4. Turbo and Intercooler Upgrade
5. 3" Down Pipe
6. ECU tuning

Do all your bolt on h/w mods first then start going for the ECU tune once its all in place. The tune is going to run you $800-1000 so you only want to do it once.

Is the smbc an easy install?? also, how do you tune it and does it cause any problems?

what do you think about the saab sport exhaust and the aero suspension upgrade??

for the big cobra, do you have to send your old pipe in??

sorry for all the questions.

Ok the SMBC will take you 5 minutes to install on a cold engine. As for tuning it you gradually turn it up until you get put into a software Limp Home Mode (the cars turns off boost). Once you reach that you back the SMBC off about a 1/4 - 1/2 turn and you are in business. As for hurting the car I have never seen proof it has hurt a car. But like anything you do to your car performance wise it will subject the car to appropriate wear and tear ascociated with the mod. I have run one on my 2000 9-3 SE HOT now for 3 years with no issues.

what do you think about the saab sport exhaust and the aero suspension upgrade??

The SAAB Sport exhaust is a very good option with a great sound. It is a very mild burbly exhaust to use. As for the Aero suspension that is an ok way to go if you find one cheap and used. If not I would still say look to Koni or Eibach for springs and struts.

for the big cobra, do you have to send your old pipe in??

No you do not... there is no core charge on that but an out right purchase and its fairly easy to install.

sorry for all the questions.

SAAB's are my love so ask as much as you want man!! I am just glad to see some more action in the Volvo/SAAB forum's!!!!
