He said because of the mileage, 102k, that I won't get anymore than this for a trade in. I'm down to 3 weeks before I have to turn it in from my lease and I'm 25k miles over the limit. i.e. $4,000 I will owe the dealer! The payoff is about $14k. :( What the hell should I do? I'm at a loss here.

Well if you turn it in you are out 4k and if you sell it you are out 2.5k. So what about keeping it and then paying it off?
I hate to say it but you screwed the pooch on your lease. You can either sell it, which I don't think you will even get close to your residual if you try, I would venture on getting maybe $12K for it, so you can
Sell it and pay the differance between what you get and what you owe, this could work out well and be the least financialy painfull, but it could take months to sell.
Its a nice car, you've taken good care of it, buy it out of its lease but that has its own down side as you are financing an Audi with over 100K on it and no warranty, so that could bite you in the ass. remeber, the t-belt and water pump are coming up soon, if you can't DIY, thats an easy $1000
trade it in and roll the $3K differance onto your new loan, which is a BAD idea because you start out on your new car WAY in the hole, but your in a tough spot, or make up the differance.
Bite the bullet and turn it in.
I have a buddy on a 12K a year lease on his 07 GTI, he has had it for 3 months now and its at 9K miles. He is already going to have to buy it out of its lease

You are in a similar position as I was with my 2000 GTi. I refinanced it into a buy (through VW Credit, which gave me 3% because I was a longtime customer) for the residual (~$12000) instead of paying over $1000 in mileage fees. I kept it for about another year, at which time I only owed like $9000 on it. Then I sold it to a friend for $15000. I won, with $6000 in my pocket - but it did take me a year and a lot of patience.
Good luck with it! I'm surprised they're only offerring that much. Nissan offerred $17000 on the trade-in for our 3.0Q , so instead we sold for $28000... but it only had 30K miles on it...
But, the lesson learned is... leases own!

25k over?...yeah, your screwed. I had a lease once. Almost went over, but traded it in before I screwed that poochie. Best thing like they said is to pay it off dood.
Leases are great, if you can stick to them. We lease Erins Jetta, only mod is window tint and the GIAC software for the 2.5. We under on our mileage by almost 7K miles, she keeps the car in great shape, when the warranty is up, she can swap it and get something different.
I bought my GLI since I have a tendency to go mod happy

is this a good time to bring up how the whole 'lease' process works??? i know a bunch of rich bmw 5 and 7 series drivers that were talkin about it a lil saying they always trade their cars in when something new comes out
Well my buddies lease on his 750LI runs $1500 a month. it was an $8K drive off with 12K a year. I could never justify that kind of money on something you give back. He does it since he is a Realtor and writes it off.

Wow did he sign a 3 year lease I assume? That is about 62,000 worth of money he put into a car that at the end he is giving back.
The sticker was around $90K If I remember. Fully loaded sport package, rear DVD, the works.
MY employee lease deal on a loaded 335 coupe was $800 drive off and $502 a month for two years. 10K a year in miles.
