My computer crashed and when it started up again it showed that i had an error with nv4_disp .... anyone know anything about that? My comp keeps freezing up on me and its driving me insane....

video driver for nvidia4 chipset

do you have onboard video or a seperate video card?

Start->Run...

Type "devmgmt.msc", click OK.

Expand "Display adapters" by clicking on the + box next to it. That's your video driver. Tell us what it says.

NVIDIA GeForce2 MX/MX 400 (Microsoft Corporation)

Ok followed the steps and that is what it says. Hope that helps, thank you guys so much for the help.

That sounds like a AGP Slot Video card. The PC i'm on right now used to a MX440. So yeah, it's not an integrated video card. Actually, I don't think nVidia makes any integrated cards.

anyone know what i can do to fix this?

open up the case and make sure the card is seated properly (as well as any other cards, plugs, and memory)

if not, maybe a system restore back to a date prior to the crash may help
