Okay, I'm not an iPhone hater . . . I just love all the hype and all the crap people talk. This is the best one I've read yet.

I've been eyeing the Nokia E70 for a while now. That will be my next phone.

Do any big U.S. carriers sell this phone? I read on CNET that it doesn't have a home with someone like Verizon, etc., and that the sound quality on it isn't so great...but I like it.

I do have to say that the iPhone is fun to play with, since a bunch of my friends have gotten them in the last week or so.

I don't think so. I was planning on picking one up off ebay when the time comes.

The series40 version of that phone is the Nokia 6820 (which is what I currently have) and it does everything that I need, plus has the fold out keyboard. The best is that they're only $120 brand new.

for the ppl who want more info on the nokia- e79
http://reviews.cnet.com/smart-phones/nokia-e70-unlocked/4505-6452_7-32381755.html?tag=prod.txt.1

heres a quick run down:

The good: The Nokia E70 cell phone features a fold-out full QWERTY keyboard and a vibrant display. The Symbian smart phone offers integrated Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, document viewing and editing, and robust e-mail capabilities. It's also equipped with a 2-megapixel camera and solid talk-time battery life.
The bad: The E70 lacks 3G support and occasionally suffers from sluggish performance. The joystick is hard to use, and without the backing of a U.S. carrier, the phone is expensive. Call quality is substandard, and the phone's speaker is also pretty weak.
The bottom line: The mobile professional who wants a compact smart phone that doesn't sacrifice features should take a look at the Nokia E70; just be prepared to pay a price.
