so i got rear ended 2day
by some cute lil philipino chick
i was goin down the 60e in the fast last goin like 70ish with the flow of traffic then out of no where the fast lane came to a dead stop for like 10 seconds = barely enough time to break. so yea and wats wierd is none of the others lains slowed down!! they were all open!!! it was just like 5-6 cars just randomly stopped tehn went, well fortunetly i was able to stop instantly (i dont know how lol but i stopped just shy of the van in front) but the car behind me was liek skirt skirt skirt smash. she amazingly didnt hit me very hard cuz of my dubs fat ass couldnt budge her lil 03 civic yet she didnt get ANY damage. the only thing i got was 2 small cracks and her paint on my bumper...so im thinkin what should i do? ive never been in an accident before lol?? btw we did exchange info.
are you serious? Man what would you do if forums didn't exist? I mean do you not do any research? ever?
Look on the back of your insurance card, or here's an idea. Call your her insurance company or insurance company

dude i already know the basics im just asking more less since i have a 500$ deductible so what if the repairs dont even cost thatmuch. see what i mean? i guess i shoulda said that at first. and i remember i got into an insurance incident with a stereo shop where they for got to latch my cf hood properly and it smashed it along with putting 2 small dings on my roof. anyways i called the insurance company to 'enquire' about it and the lady said since i called and told her it was on my car itwas already inthe system.
two things.
1. it's Brake, not break.
2. You're not at fault. Call her insurance company to report the claim. Most likely she will be doing the same but you can help with that process. If you used your insurance company what will happen is that they will go after her insurance company for the damages since you're not at fault. Do this if you're frustrated with lack of cooperation or pay-out with the damages.

even if they claim to handle fixing your car on the side, its still wise to contact your insurance company, in the event she backs out
at least there is record of the incident

since by law you have to report it to the DMV, it is best to let the insurance Co. do their job and they will report it to the DMV for you. Make sure they do it, some smaller companies don't. They will just send you the paperwork to fill out and take to the DMV yourself. Larger companies do it all for you.

tell her you won't call insurance if she goes on a date with you
take care of business!
and call insurance the next day.
file a claim on her insurance......

I thought the damage had to be over a certain amount. If it doesn't even meet his deductible. I don't think he needs to fill out the SR(# - I forget the number)? He is right though, never trust people, next thing you know they'll be bitching about how much it cost and dicking you around.
Did you offer to let her "work" off the debt?

I am having a problem, either with my browser or my computer. It's changing the spelling of some words, adding numbers to some others and it seems like all the punctuation is missing.
Anyone with computer troubleshooting skills, please help!

Actually, you (or your insurance) only have to report an accident to the DMV if:
a. damages to either parties property is >$750
b. Anyone was injured (no matter how slightly) or killed.
So, it's up to you if you want to allow her to handle this outside of her insurance.
still file a police report and an insurance claim, people try to go around the system and get burned all the time, say like if you think it needs a $300 repaint, take it to the body shop, they find out your trunk floor got wrinkled, rear support needs a pull, whatever, and its gonna cost an extra $1000, then she may think you are tryin to take her for a ride, that she doesn't have any money, etc, etc. Or the just skip out and don't pay at all.

Agreed that you should just go thru insurance. What looks like a few hundred in damage is usually a whole lot more.
And you might feel just fine right now, but wait to see how things are going tomorrow. I got rear ended once and felt fine, but the next morning could not lift my head up off of the pillow. It sucked. Try driving when you can't turn your neck.
