I did hit a few climbs that were pretty scary, but now that I got my toes wet I am ready for some more technical trails. :tup2: Show me the ways Paul!!!!

Needs more cowbell, i mean rock sliders? skid plates, rear lower link skids, upgraded rear lower skids, transmission skids, and catalytic convertor skids, oh and a lift kit? :P

not too bright standing on the downhill line of a driverless, questionably stable SUV, and putting yourself between it and another vehicle.

hope you had a video camera, just in case what I envision happening, actually happened...would make a wonderful youtube clip.

wheels keeping straight she's off to the right of the vehicle. Obviously if it turned that would be a different story. Sometimes you have to be in the way to spot too =\ can't avoid that.

It was just the angle of the shot. She was no where near the line of my vehicle, but yes, it would make for a good youtube vid.

Left rear wheel is up and front left tire is compressed so it's in motion, so there is a driver there.

rental rampage.

no driver, no motion. same exact scenario. save for the potentially squished girl.

and as for where she was standing, whether it be in your line or not, you're going to try to tell me that if you had a brake or transmission failure, that your FJ would roll straight down the highly irregular terrain slope right past her...yeah, maybe, but I wouldn't put any money on it.

Ahahahaha. Tires handled better than I had expected . . . but after talking to Paul last night I now know that the 20's are gonna be hard to run once I get bigger tires even with a lift. I had only planned on getting a 3" lift + bigger a/t's for the 20's, looks like I need a 6" lift, :tup2: cause I am not gonna have the clearance Seems like that would suck for towing??? I guess I could go with another set of wheels/tires.

the more pics you guys post of these things in action makes me wanna go on trails too.....i guess ill put the stock suspension on the gti and go up with you guys one day (show you some real travel :P)

I think you would have a great time out with us. . . just throw some super swampers on ur GTI and call it good. We ALL know how much clearance the stock mkiv's have! ;)
