Killzone

All I have to say is for anyone out there that is into first person shooters such as Medal of Honor or SOCOM you need to run out and pick up Killzone or the free demo thats going around.

I played about 2 hours last night and this game is the Sh*t! Graphics are great, AI is smart, characters, plot, weapons....I could go on and on.....

I'm not going to make any acusations about Killzone vs Halo....I don't think the games are even that similar and I'm sure Halo 2 is gonna be great....just thought I would see if anyone out there has played it.....

I was going to run out and buy or rent this until I read the reviews(especially IGN's). I was hoping to find a SOCOM II replacement but this doesn't seem like it will be it. I'll still rent it eventually but I won't be rushing to do so. How many days till GT4?

oh man, i've been waiting for this game since i demo'ed the hell out if it at E3. i was lucky enough to find a place that had it for rent yesterday and i ended playing it all night. i finally had to quit because i just couldn't aim anymore.

it was definitely not a disappointment. it may not be the "Halo killer" it was described as, but it's still pretty good.

sweet urban and gritty looking environments and some kick-ass weapons really add to the enjoyment. the AI is pretty dopey at times but forgivable. it'll be nice to play this back to back with H2 next week for sure.

I have a Dreamcast, Gamecube, and Xbox.

My needs for a PS2 are very small (soooo many games, soooo many I couldn't care less for).

By the way, my Dreamcast is essentially a House of the Dead 2 with the official DC lightguns edition Japanese import machine.

But occasionally you'll see it loading up Jet Grind Radio, Space Channel 5, Virtua Tennis (I just got Skies of Arcadia for the GC, so the DC version has retired).

I think some of the reviews for this game are retarded and don't think there should even be a comparison to Halo.....its like comparing Halo with a game like Red Faction...yeah they futuristic but this game is far from being as mechanized....and if you go out and rent this and aren't impressed I don't know what to say....if there are limitiations to the game its due to the platform and what they have to work with.....

I give both the Socom series a 5 out of 5 and so far Killzone is easily a 4.25/5

game is dark and definatley gritty, by the end of the night my teeth were grinding from all the lead I had been pulling....

such a hard crowd to please these days....

How is the multi-player? How does the mulit-player compare to SoCom II? Your glowing review has made me want to rent this sooner. I'm just hesitant because everyone was talking up Battlefront and I made the mistake of buying before trying. Sure the whole Star Wars setting, vehicles, characters, and maps are cool but the gameplay blows. Almost unplayable. After reading the reviews I feared KZ would be similar.

Im sorry guys but SOCOM II is gonna be my game of FPS for awhile..(at least till I make captain :tup: )then its off to GTA SA when it becomes a greates hit....I knoow itll take awhile (year or so) but I can wait...... :(

I made Admiral on SOCOM II and have exhausted it, I was online with it for awhile but had to move my computer and lost connection to the online so I haven't tried it out on Killzone......I just picked up the game after work yesterday and only played two hours with the one of the characters so I can't say much on the online or the other multiplayer functions....one good aspect of the game is that as you go you unlock other characters so you can go through and replay the game as the other characters with the game unfolding completley different each time. Meaning you can go back and have a totally different experience with a total of 4 players and no level is ever exactly the same.....

damn I was going to pick up that Star wars game too.....one thing I say is this game is never dull and well worth a try....

I got Killzone on my HDD free loader, the game is cool and all but it seems a bit slow, and (as any other game, except 007) multiplayer split screen sucks, looks like funky widescreen.. As for BattleFront, I was reading about it in my PSM, it seems cool in words, but havent played it yet. Gonna rent it this weekend and see what its like....
