From the pictures I have seen I really like it. Now just as long as it drives as good as it looks.

Once someone gets to tuning them, it should be a bitchin little car(lookin at you Doug). As they are stock, its probably fun to drive but seems underpowered to me. I guess there is no way to tell until I actually drive one, but 227/236 in a 3000lb hatch sounds a little slow.

seems to be pretty much on par for Volvo's heavy to hp ratio.

Its got an integrated turbo->exhaust manifold so thats a bit restrictive. I bet if I really wanted I could get ATP to cast new exhaust manifolds ;)

I have yet to drive a stock C30 but I spent a day driving the heico C30 a few weeks back. It was pretty nice, more boost, water injection, coilovers, and the big thing all-wheel drive. The Heico car is built really well. The front end didn't have the kind of vague feeling I normally associate with volvos and it handles really well.

The interior of the C30 is really nice maybe even a little better than the mk5s. It may be more of a preference thing because some people find it kind of odd. I like the fact that there are two bucket seats in back instead of trying to pass the car off as a 5 seater.

They are going to be pricey, but if you load up a GTI or an A3 I guess they are in the same range.

OK.. I was talking to the mgr of development training while pouring drinks and he gave me the rundown on the car. Base is $22,500 and whats on display is $25k+. They are really aiming it at the GenX group and attacking the gti group, the mini owners and those "grown ups" that are out of college and ready to dump the civic. They really arent looking at the performance market yet. Its more for those tech savy people that want nice quality stereos with bluetooth and ipod capabilities. Another push for sales it the direct factory order. Roberto Guererro (Indy car driver) is heading up the track course down at Qualcomm for those volvo mgrs that are in town for the next two weeks. I talked to him tonight....cool guy.

Now on to the XC70 and V70..... a complete new marketing group (Arnold out of Boston) is heading the campaign. Safty is still the big push... the ads Arnold came up with are weak.... one involves a donkey.

Hey Lon, I guess Trevor (volvo mgr) talked to you Sat at the Big GTG when they brought in a C30.

ok.. the camera has to go to work tomorrow so i can put some pix up here.
