I saw something on him and he has been competing in drift competitions with a Viper. Too much power and not enough driving experience is never a good thing.

He has been getting into the drifting scene but that seems to be based more on his name than skill. Hope he is alright as the crash looks pretty bad

Yeah....he crashed that too going like 70mph to a side wall during a drift event. A lot of people at work thought that he smashed the 350Z that we have recently supplied tons of go fast parts for as part of a drifter bulid up being done by their family mechanic.
I bet daddy will think twice before handing over the keys to this car.

Too much damn money and not enough responsibility. Puts a bad light on car enthusiasts.

But of course, it's always the passenger that bears the brunt, listed as critical...

he was drifting the viper, but now has a supercharged 350z. He got 3rd at the NOPI Event in Pittsburgh this year. Not bad for a 17 kid who JUST turned 17. He's got a lot of passion and drive for the sport, and puts in more practice time than 95% of the pros. With that kind of drive, he'll be seeing the podium way more often.

He's crashed more than once. But so has nearly every other drifter. Rhys Millen total'd one of the GTO's Pontiac gave him at an event in '05. Alex Pfeiffer has hit many walls. I think Drift Alliance has crashed more times than they've won. But they fix it and go back out there and move on. Part of pushing the limits of the car means you will surpass that limit many times.

he's way more responsible than most 17-year-olds. He had to grow up fast. But he's still a kid at heart.

I guess crashes makes perfect! I mean practice:D I am a firm beleiver that definately getting back on the horse after falling shows a lot of character and dedication but I'm not sure I'm with you on the " more responsible than most 17-year-olds" considering he just
wrapped his yellow supra around a palm tree on a "public road way" beleiving he was in
tokyo drifting. I just hope his pasenger makes it out alive from the hospital.

O'Rly ?

"Local station Tampa Bay News 10 interviewed witnesses who claimed the Hogan Knows Best star was racing a silver Dodge Viper at the time of the crash."

Seems fairly average to me...

Irresponsible parenting at its finest, and I'm a big fan of Hogans, terrible.

He still goes by Hogan. Just like Terry still answers to 'Hulk', and Brooke is using "Hogan" in all her music.

Bollea is his real name... but not the one he uses.

quoted from another board. Jrod = the announcer from Formula D

Yes,
It's confirmed Nick is out of the hospital.
I spoke to him personally,
he broke his arm and is VERY sore, shaken of course.

He was headed back to the hospital to visit his passenger that is still in there.

He informed me that he hydroplaned and lost control of the vehicle, he actually attempted to dodge a puddle and there was somebody next to him, too late.

Bottomline, I'm sure he's very shaken and will get hammered on because that's the nature and world we live in.
Accident is an accident, foolish or whatever.

Nick is out of the hopsital and suffered a broken arm, yet he's heading back ot the hospital and concerned about his boy John.

Let's be supportive and less negative.
