Well, it's basically been demanded by more than a few people, so here we go!

This Sunday (and you have Monday off, yay!), we will meet up for some good food, take a nice drive, then hang out by the beach for the last official weekend of the Summer.
When: THIS SUNDAY, September 2nd
Time: Show up at The Stand at 11:00am, departing for the cruise/beach at 12:45.
Where: The back parking lot of The Stand. The Stand is located at 17000 Ventura Boulevard (between White Oak and Balboa), Encino (http://www.google.com/maps?f=d&saddr=&daddr=17000+Ventura+Blvd+Encino,+CA+91316&iwstate1=dir:to&oi=manybox&ct=16&cd=1&resnum=1)

While at The Stand, please take the chance to grab something to eat and either bring it back out to the lot to eat, or I'm sure a lot of us will grab a seat on their shaded/cooled patio... To try to take a large group anywhere on/around PCH to eat and park together is pretty much impossible, so eat your lunch while there (we've allotted plenty of time to do so) and maybe bring a light snack to munch on at the beach... As always, please be respectful of the location by keeping your parking lot speed under control and throw away your trash!

From The Stand, we will be making a right turn on to Ventura Boulevard, taking Ventura to Sepulveda (make a right on Sepulveda). Then next turn will be a right turn on to Church Lane (which will take us to Sunset Blvd). Make a right on to Sunset Blvd and take that all the way to P.C.H. Make a right on to P.C.H. and we will cruise for a while in to Malibu... Our final destination is Westward Beach (just past Point Dume)...
Getting in the lot is somewhat-tricky.... Once we pass Kanan-Dume road, get in the right lane... We will go around the round-about (see picture 1), then through the parking lot back to Westward Beach Road (see picture 2).. Then continue on that road to the pay-booth for the lot...

Bring your cameras, $7 cash, and something to snack on (if you like munching at the beach)... The parking lot costs $7 per car (the cost might have dropped to $5, but I can't be sure)... covers all-day but there are no ins-and-outs. There are some amazing photo-spots (a few in the lot we'll be in) and hopefully the weather will cooperate for an amazing day..
