Anyone have this phone? I'm just interested if you like it, if you're having problems with it...etc. I'm with Cingular and I'm eligible to upgrade my phone. They have a refurb online for $150 cheaper than a new one. Are refurbs a blessing in disguise, or POS's? Any help is appreciated. GRACIAS!

That's strange...They are $229 in the store with a $100 rebate. I wonder if some stores have different deals?

i've had it since it came out. Its easy to use, good battery life.
I would pass on it though, nothing really special about it.

That's the info I was looking for. Good call.

I'm not looking for anything special...just want to combine my palm with my phone so I don't have to carry two devices around all the time.

It depends on what you're gonna use it for.
If you want a phone that will help with your job oriented stuff, e-mail, whatnot, I wouldn't get the blackjack. We tested it as another phone, but it doesn't work well with work application, and yeah, the 3G is nice, but kind of overrated.
We use Treo's and Blackberries. I'm a bigger fan of Treos since I'm able to do a lot more with it being palm based. I have a treo 680 and my wife had a treo 650. We
both love them. Live e-mail, internet, and program galore (you know this since you have a palm). If you get a treo, depending on the one you get, you need to understand the 650 was made as a Palm, not a phone (so some of the phone features suck, volume is low, mic is low) Which can all be fixed with a program called volume care.
The biggest thing I like about my treo is it's versatility, it doesn't crash a lot like windows based phones (windows bases anything really). I have a program called mini bar (in case I go to a bar the the person doesn't know how to make a tokyo tea, or a chocolate cake shot). Skies the limit.
I don;t like how Blackberry is proprietery, and I don't like how thin the blackjack is. The Treo 680 is just the right size to be small, but still feel like you can hold the bitch without breaking it.
Also keep in mind . . . if you have a palm and like the platform, why change? If you like Palm you'll hate blackberry, and I know a lot of people that have gone from their palms, to a treo 650 (Palm OS), to a 700W (windows, which crashed a lot due to memory issues), to a 750W (windows with more memory), and back to the 700P or 680, because they hated windows!

the biggest objection to the BJ is the battery life. But there's an 'extended battery' recall for it.
As an entry-level smart phone, it's aiight. But lots of other phones are more powerful / easier to use / better overall

IMO, if you're looking at getting a Blackjack (Samsung SGH-i607), I'd look into getting the SGH-i600. It's the WiFi version of the BlackJack.

Too many people scam the system and warranty the phone and sell it on e-bay. At least thats what they told me.

That was the deal with a 2 year contract when I bought it.
They are $99.99 now... http://www.wireless.att.com/cell-phone-service/cell-phone-details/?device=Samsung+BlackJack&q_sku=sku960048

WOW! Thanks for that info. That's great. Good points on the Treo vs the BJ. Hmmm...

I'm tripping right now. I swear I checked the prices last night and this offer wasn't available. I'm on the site right now, and a REFURB is the same price! WTF. Not going that route for shure...

I have had mine since last spring and I gotta say its pretty cool!
I sync it up with outlook at work so all my meetings are in there
I can access Gmail thru Opera Mini (internet Explore sux)
I added a 2GB micro SD card for $30 from New egg and I have tons of music on there, when I fly I drop the music and use Nero Mobile to downlaod Movies to the phone for in flight ent...
I have a sling boxd on my Mom's TV back in boston so I can watch the Redsox games streamed to my phone.
Coreplayer is way better than Windows media player!
I stream XM on-line radio to the phone (great when bike riding)
Camera/video takes decent pics in daylight (night indoor sucks but most camera phones do)
Def a bargin as far as Samrt phones go a@ <$100

Hmm... I'm pretty sure I got the insurance on my 8125.
Guess I better double check...
On topic, the Bj is pretty cool. It is what I would have bought if not the 8125 back in Feb. My wife (BettaGettaGurl) is also looking for a Blackjack, but we aren't due for upgrade yet, so we gotta shop wise.
Edit - The Black Jack has Bubble Breaker on it. That alone makes the phone worth purchasing :)

I think that if it is a cingular phone, you can get insurance. But I know they didn't offer me insurance on my 680 or my wifes 650.
