Sometimes I think SCE needs chatrooms. There are times when it's the same 5 or less guys all just thread hopping around posting on different things. Every now and then it'd be nice to open a chatroom and be able to invite users online. I know this is potentially a bad idea, but I'm curious as to what you all think.

Admins and Mods. If the topic is hot enough they might eventually consider adding it to the forums. They might have already considered it or they may never even think twice about it. Who knows?

I think a good place to start is mIRC because the modifications and such are just so damn versatile. It is also free... Maybe I'll start one off for the site, make the mods on here, mods on there and then give the leader position to Bugzy.

Cool. Whatever works. It'd just be sick to be able to have a conversation with multiple people. Not just post replies.

Ooooh. Good call. Plus no one can talk about what we talked about later.
Forums are tight because it's an ongoing convo that you don't have to be present for and anyone can join in on.
Chatrooms are tight because its an ongoing in depth, fast paced, convo with only people you want to talk to.
This is tough.

We used to have a chat room... it was wild.
The messages flew by so fast that you hardly knew what was happening. Maybe we'll go resurrect the link.

mIRC... You implement a script stating how many times you've talked, etc.
Hell, you could make it into a circa 1980s MUD (Multi User Dungeon) Where it's like Dungeons and dragons shit lol.
Scripting gives it the ability to be what you want it to be.

I voted "Good Idea", because I'm cool enough to have access to IM/chat clients at werk. :)

They had something like that on my old local forums. The problem they had with it is it took up too much bandwidth and was constantly slowing down the website.

try using
http://gabbly.com/www.socaleuro.com
People can log on and it will pop up on the window, only people logged in can see the conversation but you can set it as your default to chat with people on here.
