What Is this crossover stuff? I don't get it...

I'm confused on the crossover deal... At first I thought it was a BMW and MB thing... Than I just saw a Volvo commercial and they mentioned something about the new "crossover" line... I don't get it :doh:

What companies are in it, what is it about?

to be honest its a new word to get people to buy a suv by calling its a crossover. it makes it sound smaller, cheaper, less of a gas hog. There's the Buick Enclave that is a crossover minivan/suv, its big. Size doesnt matter much.. its more of a mix of two genders.
