All CA cars require a smog check. New ones don't for the first four years I believe. At any rate, a Catless down pipe will net you a few more ponies than a high flow cat, but not worth it if you get caught by a road inspection, they will write you a ticket which is around $2000, or take your car, or both to something of that effect

its still not worth it. just install a dp with a high flow cat and avoid an mil light on all the time.

im running a custom test pipe i got from the guys at Genesis
no CEL
gives it a clean rumble and helps my BT work better

so its up to you, if you go testpipe you might want to have your cat at home so whenever you need to smog you can just slap it on

Most up-to-date programs have a cat delete/o2 efficiency code built in, I believe. My car, when it ran, didn't have a cat and I ran it like that for around two years. Never had a problem, but it looked stock, sounded stock (oe catback), and I didn't drive like a twat... I did, however, pee a little when I got pulled over for tint. Fortunately he left it at that.

Yeah, why risk it, your not gonna gain a ton of HP or torque by going catless VS a highflow unit.

Setup I traded for came with a cat-less setup...wouldn't have opted for it.
