anyone deal w/ a mk4 broken glove box?

my glove box has been broken for some time now (2003 GTI). the handle became loose and it doesn't stay shut. Its like something in the glove box door broke apart or something. so i removed the whole thing trying to figure out how to fix it. it seems that it's one whole piece (door + box itself).

Anyone have any experience or suggestions on how to fix? Replace he whole glove box (door & box)? Were you able to replace the door only? Or were you able to somehow open apart the door & fix the broken door?

Any help on this matter would be much appreciated! :tup: i miss using the glove box!!

you can purchase the door alone from the dealer. there are 2 pins you have to seperate to get it apart. you will have to switch the lock cylinder so sont throw away the door until you remove the cylinder and transfer over.
