it should hold up by all means if you engine is running healthy

no vac leaks, compression is right on, maintenance is up to date etc etc

i have 172xxx on my 2.8 (not VR6) and I plan to s/c soon

I would also say that it depends how strong your engine is running and how it has been maintained. VR6's are pretty durable engines and can run for much longer than 100k.

Perfectly acceptable. You should do a couple of checks before you go ahead and just toss it on, and crank up the boost, however.

1. Oil pressure check, with a real gauge.

2. Compression check.

3. Leakdown test.

4. Vacuum test. Idle, 2k hold, and WOT

Depending on the results of these 4 checks, you can usually tell the overall condition of the engine and the connected components, based on engine tollerance numbers.

I fixed all the leaks today, and i need to do a compression check. Thanks for all the tips guys. :D I also replaced the timing belt. Overall it looks and sounds in good condition.

It shouldn't be an issue if your motor is healthy to begin with and its a solid kit, bad fueling can destroy a motor in no time.

Timing Belt on a VR? They are on a chain, is that what you mean, you did the chain and ramps?

I would hope that every VW engine should be good for at least 200k miles, if properly maintained.

Performance mods put extra stress on an engine, so each owner needs to do his research. But if everyone waited until the factory warranty expired (60k for powertrain), and if 100k miles was considered to be too many, then the number of tuners would be much smaller than it is.
