Yeah, Scott, it's totally up to you bro. If you like them sport them. Seems like you have a perfectly split opinion from the croud which is perfect. It means not everybody would sport them, upping your Jetta's uniqueness <-sp?.
And, no matter how you slice it, HIDs look damn sweet at night when it counts anyhow!

10-14-2007, 07:54 PM
Well we all have our different tastes. Something i have learned, if its not 100 percent oem alot of people will say its crappy or ricey when in fact that may not be the case. Just because its made from somewhere other than a OEM authorized manufacturer doesn't make it ricey or crap.

I am assuming that the amber lights in the middle are for the turn signal, but do they both light up or just one of them?

I'm not upset about the shit talking. It comes with the territory when it comes to the internet. What I am upset about is that over the last year there's more and more of it and less and less of the help...
Plus most of the people who talk shit here are the type of people who stand by themselves or in their small little group at gtgs and wont bother talking shit directly unless it's online behind the safety of the computer. If you're a hardass, opinionated person online then you should have the balls and act the part at the gtgs.

Calm down buddy.
This post wasn't asking for help, was it? no. So that's probably why you don't see people jumping in offering to help the guy out.
Also, 99% of Scotts threads ask for an opinion on some mod, usually right in the title, which gives everyone who comes accross the thread the ability...no...responsibility, to reply with their honest opinion.
He seems to have a pretty thick skin anyway...doesn't seem nearly as bothered by it as you, and it's not even your post!

now will these work with a leveling motor? the onlything i have so far is a euro switch.
I'm sorry. The view must not be so good with your head up your ass so I figured I'd show you the part you must have excitedly skimmed over after you got a shit-talking erection looking at those lights and felt compelled to tell the world what you felt.
I'm really not surprised there are people with diarrhea of the mouth when it comes to shit talking on forums. What I am surprised about is the increase in people, like you, who post a negative comments as a majority.
And as I stated before the best part is that some of them feel they have a right or a responsibility to say things, but only online because I don't see them saying shit like that face to face.
Anyways, this Scott dude seems like a pretty rational dude and I wasn't commin' in to thread-jack.
I hope it works out with your lights Scott. Maybe if I can pull myself out of the pits (work and school) I'll check it out in person at a meet or gtg.

Ecodes and HID = rice
Ecodes are designed for halogen with scatter beam light pattern, which basically can end up blinding the oncoming traffic, so most people just aim their headlights low, which is lil ghetto too
at least projectors and HID's fit properly, if you get the right projectors, you can properly aim the beam where its suppose to go
auto leveling wont happen on your car with a lot of mod'n and parts to add
forget the auto leveling
scottd1975
10-16-2007, 12:23 PM
well as stated before i got the projectors. I decided not to go with the Ecodes because they wont allow a proper beam pattern. The lights i got are a direct replacement for the OEM lights. Although they arent OEM they are replacements for them and wont make my beam pattern go everywhere..

sean, your right ... people are being overly negative lately, particularly with Scott's posts
didnt your parents teach you, if you dont got anything to say, dont say anything
if your gonna post negative comments, at least make it constructive, instead of insulting
post up reasoning for why it "Sucks" or its "rice" ... if you want to have your comments (negative or positive) taken seriously ... you should have something to back it up
scottd1975
10-16-2007, 12:29 PM
guys and gals i dont care what negativity comes from a post i make if they dont like me or my post i could care less.. I have had more than one person come to me and tell me thanks for asking the questions because they were scared to... People shouldn't be scared to ask questions no matter how you feel about them. They should be able to get honest answers without being flamed. This community has its clicks just as any other but most seem open and willing to help.

Seems like you did your research and know what you want.
As Bugzy said, auto-leveling would probably cost you more than what you want so just retrofit your lights and call it a day. Maybe later you can save up some cash and try to figure out what you want to do on that end. I'd say by then you'll probably find something bigger and better to do. It tends to happen that once you have things where you want it you see something else that catches your eye. Ask bugzy... I think the dude's owned enough rims to supply everyone in this forum with custom wheels.
Hope it works out for you buddy... make sure to post up some pics when it's done.

Good choice with the headlights Scott. Post some pics after you got them in. I'd like to see the smoked housing. These have a really nice build quality, nice beam pattern, they don't leak (like the ones you were looking to get), and they have a clean backside to them.
Installation is pretty easy, but let me know if you run into any trouble dude.
