I think that's a bout the same price as an aftermarket window module from DEI.

true . . . not sure how this module works though . . .
Things that the dei module offer are pressure controls so that it doesn't burn up your window motors., I don't see any resistance feature on that module.
Your windows should still know when they reach the top through the hall sensor in the motor on the window, this is just a plug in hack that allows it to rollup with a signal from the remote to the comfort/convenience module, remember, its just giving an input to the module, like the door lock switch that enables up/down when you use the door lock

Thanks for this. Didn't know they had it... I like non-wire splicing.
Great replacement for the AlienTech, which is no longer installed since the accident that replaced my driver's side door.

Vag won't do it for any MK4s so far as I've seen. MK5s, no problem though. A neat idea for MK4s though. Another option besides AlienTech

You cannot program a MkIV's windows, they don't have the Audi program, which this module loads onto your CCM.
I've had it for several months now, love it.

now do you leave this thing plugged in or what?

10-16-2007, 11:48 PM
no, you just plug it in and wait a few minutes(I think 5) and it does what it has to do, and then you are good, just remove it. Very simple.

I'm pretty sure it is not. I don't know what they use to protect it but I remember someone mentioning they couldn't be used on another car.

we do similar stuff for our current project........you can put the software upgrade on a number of mediums........but once upgraded.......it deletes it from the storage device.

I thought all this does is reprogram the ccm, isnt that what the vag does? Anyways. I like mine. I want to disable the pinch protection though. sometimes it will window rolls half way down, this is after I have walked away of course :(

Mission Impossible style...seld destruct in 5 sec... a few guys tried to see if they could do it. never heard anything about it. I still have mine just for that reason though. I know you can buy one that will have enough for 2 cars, so if that helps anyone determine what medium it uses. good luck.
