Ok, so I have a serious question for those of you out there with young children. What are your kids watching on TV? This isn't really a debate or a conversation that I would like to see turn into an " You shouldn't be letting your kid watch that". I am just honestly wondering what kids are watching at certain ages. I don't think my children are watching bad TV, for say, but I think that they could be watching TV shows that challenge them more for the ages they are.

My oldest is 4 years 6 months old, and she loves to watch Disney shows, alot of Little Einsteins, Backyardigans, and Drake and Josh(I know that its bad that I know the names of these shows, but I am just paying attention to what she is watching). I feel that these shows, granted, they are more educational than most cartoons, are not challenging her enough, and that maybe she should already be watching more grown up kid shows. She is my first child and I know that I may be over thinking this situation, so I would just like to know what your children like to watch and at what ages. Thank you much, and I appreciate your honest input.

Little Einsteins, Doodle Bops, Mickey Mouse Club house*... pretty much the Disney Channel cartoons. Not many others, we try to limit his TV.

He does watch George Lopez and Friends with the wife and I.

Oh, he is 3.

*That's right, it is "club" not "play" house. Good catch Huitzi!

Granted my child is < 6 months, she has already recognized the TV. We are trying not to involve her too much with that kind of stimulus just yet, but when we notice her watching, we will change it to something Disney or Nickelodeon related. She is captivated by the news and Samurai Champloo :)

Oh and my cat loves to watch baseball...

I have an 8 yr old step daughter and she watches the F*%! out of the Disney channel. She loves that stuff. I feel that its better than her watching the things that I watch. Like I know she would love to watch The Family Guy with me, but I don't let her. She has seen some when I wasn't lookin, and thats how she knows she likes it, but I don't like her too watch it. Just my input.

Thanks, I was just basically trying to see if she is watching the right shows for her age. I am not to worried about the more adult shows, as I know I wouldn't let her watch them yet, but I wanted to make sure that she is not watching shows that are for kids alot younger than her. I guess i am just wanting to make sure she is growing at the pace she should and that the TV she does watch is actually helping her out (yes TV does help children learn certain things) rather than just slowing her down.

Of course it does, it taught me that 8ft tall Yellow Birds are to be avoided at all costs!

It made my brother really believe in Disney Characters . . . and Disneyland was traumatizing to him when he found out it all was real!!

Now he's gay . . . Way to go Disney!

My 3 year old loves Star Wars DVDs. His favorite is Empire Strikes Back.

Other than that he likes Backyardigans, Little Einsteins, Dragontales, Thomas the Train, pretty much anything PBS Kids is okay except for barney (i just loathe that goofy voice he has) and teletubbies (again, goofy and creepy)

Do you re-enact Vader's "I am your father!" scene with him? :D

Just the fact that you posted this means your on top of it, all of these Disney shows, alot of Little Einsteins, Backyardigans, and Drake and Josh are fine.
Just be glad that Barney, and them teletubbys are hopefully extinct.
