quick question about jetta and passat gauges

I know by searching vortex that the passat gauges in the mk4 wont fit or supposedly wont fit. Now will the gauges be interchangeable? I want to take the silver faces rings off a passat gauge and use them on mine... The passat cluster has the silver boarder around its numbers on the gauge and i want to use that on my car but im not sure if the gauge faces are the same size does anyone know?

keep in mind all i want to use it the gauge rings and gauges themselves.. not the middle parts at all

i think they sell after market ring for mk4s, but if not ive seen a couple of cars with em so yea the passat rings should fit

Are they not completely interchangeable and just VAG the new one? That looks like a 20AE cluster which is interchangeable.
