For those that didn't know, Susan picked up a 2005 V6 Touareg last week. It is her vehicle so, as much as I would love to do it, the VF supercharger will never happen nor will most other mods.

I think she's cool with an ipod adapter and maybe a couple covers for the dashboard cubby holes. For now, it has monster mats which added at leas 20 ft/lbs of torque.

Again... here is a link in case the image is broken. I am not web savvy enough to make my website work right.

Lookin' good.

The VW iPod adapter interface isn't the greatest but it gets the job done. If you want one let me know as I have access to 3 of them.

It may not have a ton of power in a straight line, but its a bullet proof motor, has a killer 4WD setup and has a bitchin "Cool" factor. Erin and I want one when we get rid of her Jetta! Congrats!

Easily. We even lucked out and the previous owner got the factory tow package.

Wait... an exterra can't pull a seadoo? That's really hard to believe. Exterra's are great vehicles and I find it hard to believe they have that little towing capacity. Even my little ranger can pull a seadoo and Jason towed his down to San Diego from Ventura or wherever with a GTI.

Edit:

I should add, the Exterra would easily have been my second choice in an SUV.

what did i tell you?:hammerh: touaregs are nice but require quite a bit of $$ to keep up, such as brakes and tires every 20-25k on the average.

I don't know who told you that, but the Xterra's towing capacity is 5000 lbs. You could tow a track car easily, a jet ski would be a piece of cake.

The brakes and tires cost as much as the ones I use on the TT. The bigger concern for us that the Touareg gets roughly 35% few miles per gallon. We actually still have my car and susan's to use for commuting. The Touareg is strictly a pleasure vehicle for us.

That reminds me, I need to order new pads and rotors for the TT.

Edit:

I don't know what the deal is but the pads I need for my wilwoods are cheaper than they used to be from summit. SCORE!

We had a 02 Xterra 3.2l auto and felt slow as hell when towing the seadoo, also our seadoo is heavier than others its a 3 seater, and its pretty big..... so we traded it in for a 04 F150 but we want a Toureg:p

I'll let you know how it goes the first time we tow something then because I'm not sure how "fast" the Touareg will be with a load behind it. Its not the quickest thing on the planet weighing 5100lbs and all.

the 02 Xterra had a 3.3L, My frontier had the same motor and pulled my Landcruiser, and double axle Uhaul trailer, about its 6000LB limit over the Grapevine with no problem. You sure you know what you are doing? :D

re: Towing

1. I know a few people who tow 24' travel trailers with their V6 and have no problems

2. If your X-terra can't tow a measily 1400lbs without issue then that vehicle is worse than I thought.

Hell, I've towed a Seadoo GTX limited with an Aerostar mini van with no issues so the X-terra should NOT have problems.. What, do you expect to still win a race while towing?

I keep wondering if one of those is worth investing in.

all this towing talk makes me think that you know...the vf supercharger would definitely let you tow your dedicated track tt....
