definitely looks like it started at the fuse box, probably a chaffed wire or one that was routed incorrectly. Sad, especially for German workmanship and quality control, and it can't even be blamed on Oktoberfest. There has been more than one of these? We got a recall on the 2.5 MK5 for a fuel line chaffing on the washer bottle and possibly causing a fire. Which is in no way related to this but interesting none the less.

I got a letter, all official and stuff, it says Jetta on it, not Rabbit, but its the same thing front of the windshield right? Unless you have a different washer bottle for the inclusion of the rear hatch wiper/washer. Stop by a dealer and they can run it.

Has happened to 4 of them so far. 4/5000 isn't a promising ratio so far.
