I was just browsing the MKV forum on the 'tex and came upon this "Rabbit".... WTF was he thinking?!?!? I think he should have just bought a GTI...:o
A for effort and creativity
F for execution...
IMO of course...

My name on the tex is the same.... and i think a better way to pull that off would to actually trade or buy gti front bumpers...

I love it. When my bro get's one, I'm trying to convince him to put the Jetta front end on it.

why would ppl with rabbits buy product and paint schemes to make it look like a gti...
...same reason why mk4' golfs/gtis buy r32 bodykits...

true but if ur gonna make a rabbit look like a gti y be cheap and just paint it instead of buying the rite body pieces to pull the look off

What does that say about Ted's car then? His is a mkIV Jetta that looks like a mkV GTI

but he didnt just paint it too look that way he took the time to get the rite bumper and then get it painted that car above is doing the half assed and cheap way

I wasn't saying Ted's car looks bad, just saying that he did a similar thing to his Jetta.
I love my rabbit bumper, if I wanted a GTI I would have bought one. The Rabbit keeps me happy just the way it is. For the most part.

Jetta Front End on a MKV Golf (any) = (:tup: if it has the Golf GT grille's)
Rabbit bumper painted to look like a GTI = IMO
Like Justin said... just buy the bumpers at least....

...I dunno- I like it. It looks like he did put a lot of time into it-- I mean the custom grill that completely matches the paint, and red pin-stripe... and it dowsn't really look like cheap paint either...... Also, the GTI's front end doesn't have the black extend up onto the hood. :)

Plus, it appears that it's not black paint on his car, but a dark silverstone type of greay maybe???

Instead of buying the GTi bumper and grill, he should hit up a GTI owner and see if they might want to do a swap. I personally like the Rabbit front end better and if I owned a GTI, I would certainly do the swap.As far as how it looks now, I think it is pretty good looking and is not too gawdy. I agree that lowering it would change how it looks dramatically.

yea that guy messed up on that rabbit, why try and duplicate at GTI? lol
And even if he were to pull it off (which he didnt) and vdubbers find out he has a 2.5l under the hood....HaHa. Pretty sad if you ask me.
But what do i know.... i have a mkiv :)

the new GTI has to much going on in the front.. trying to be like big brother Audi.. but the rabbit is nice and clean like the previous years, it's not trying to look like an audi... Not to say the 2.0l fsi motor is a bad motor, but the 2.5L 5cyl is no slouch.. Turbo kits are going on the market soon and hell you can make your own right now... a rabbit 2.5l with a t3/t4 with all the goodies around 21k vs. a new gti at 27k(est), that rabbit would smoke the gti 10 fold and have the looks to boot... Now thats insult with injury!! lol
