As the fires spread to more populous areas and to where many of us in San Diego live, evacuation orders continue to be issued and so it would be nice for us to keep tabs on members.
So, if possible, please post up your location and status and if you may need any assistance.
I'm in Sabre Springs (I-15 and Poway Road) and in no immediate danger, but we all know that can change.

I just talked to NetNet who lives in Escondido. She says she can see flames but they are still at least 5 miles away.
She also talked to ncttrnl and he was evacuated from Rancho Bernardo and is headed down to his parents' house in Chula Vista.

I just had to do a U turn through Escondido as the 15 has been closed. I could have probably gone to the 78 and took the 5 to work, but nah...I'm not trying to leave my family with the possibility of them closing the freeway back to them. On my way home I seen a big fire right off the freeway by the mission road exit in Fallbrook. This is gonna be a crazy day/week.....:(

Scripps Ranch here. Looks like we're getting surrounded.
If you're in san diego along any area with canyons / brush... pack up now and get ready to evacuate. Clothing, money, whatever. Just get ready to go.
You don't want to wait till the last minute to evacuate.

We evacuated to my parents and are now in chula vista.
We just kinda grabbed our important papers and some clothes and cruised out figuring it was a voluntary evac. When we drove out, the hill behind our units was burning. Firefighters were literally spraying water past us at the hill.
Last we saw the fire was within 100 feet of our unit. Hopefully they put it out but I'm not counting on anything.

All the way in carlsbad it looks like it might come over the hill to the East. The Carlsbad PD reverse 911 thing called and said that maybe we should think about getting some things together in the event of an evac. WTF?!?

The news last night was saying that the wind is blowing burning embers up to 1-2 miles, so jumping the freeway isn't a big deal.
They also showed a parking lot at night near one of the fires and there were burning embers blowing all over the place...like little lights dancing on the asphalt. Not good.
I hope everyone is safe.

During the Cedar Fire in '03 the fire jumped I-15 right before the 163 split right at Miramar there. That would just be your standard 16-lane freeway. So with enough wind, the fire can go anywhere

Thats southwest of me. I live in the community just west of the 15 and just south of Pomerado Road/Lake Hodges.
My tools aren't there but we did leave behind a bunch of stuff behind. We thought the evac was just a precaution until we started driving out and then we couldn't go back.
Needless to say, we're not dressing up for the Halloween party and, if my home burns down, I'm not bringing any homebrew.

Channel 7-39 just reconfirmed with the Sherrifs Dept. The 15 is closed in both directions from the scales north of Fallbrook to the 76. And also from the 78 to the 56/52? (one of the two 50s).
The 15 is open between the 76 and 78 from what they are saying... not much, but it can give you the option of either of the 76 or 78 to get Westward.

The Corrado has been evacuated. Price left his S4 to burn in its place (leased stock vehicle, he doesn't care) I'll be taking the R32 with me when we leave.
Remote areas of Poway is burning but not Scripps yet from what I have heard.

Yeah we seem to be somewhat ok at this time but that can change at a moments notice.
From my complex
Still there Paul? We're really getting surrounded now. The fire in Poway is worriesome because once it heads west it'll be coming straight for us!!
They were saying an electrical transformer blew and sparked it off.
I guess people will have someone to sue now.
side note
SCE servers are located off Clairemont Mesa Blvd and the 163 freeway ;)
if that area gets in trouble and server is down, you'll know why
If the fire gets down in that area, that will have meant we're officially done for. :(

Just keeping tabs on who else has been evacuated from the fires.
My family & I had to leave our home under mandatory evacuation at 3:30pm this afternoon, fire is about 5 miles from our home at this point, closing in on the north along the 15 and on the east behind Scripps Ranch. Pretty much all of Rancho Bernardo, Mira Mesa, and Scripps Ranch are under mandatory evac.
We're all safe, exited to Coronado to my mom's home. My precious cars are all safe as well... drove the R32 here, and my buddy decided he'd swap his S4 for my Corrado, leaving his car to burn if the fires hit there. From SD County Emergency:
10-22-07 5:02 p.m. CAL FIRE update: The Harris Fire is well over 20,000 acres. Mapping and accuracy of acres is difficult due to rapid rate of fire spread. There is 0% containment and the fire’s spread is moving westerly towards Otay Lake. Firefighters are focusing all efforts on protection of life, property, and firefighter safety. SDGE's Southwest major transmission line remains shut down.
The Witch Fire is 12,000 acres. There is a mandatory evacuation in Scripps Ranch. Fifty homes destroyed in Poway, 70 homes destroyed in Escondido, 6 homes destroyed in Rancho Santa Fe, an unknown number of structures destroyed in Rancho Bernardo. The fire is spreading in a west and south direction. The fire has crossed I-15 at Lake Hodges heading southwest to the communities of Carmel Mountain Ranch, Mira Mesa, and 4-S Ranch and south toward Peutz Valley, Harbison Canyon, the western part of Alpine. The head of the fire is burning in the same path as the Cedar Fire in 2003.
ALL Airtankers and helicopters are currently flying including the DC-10 supertanker from CAL FIRE. Citizens along the fire's edge are requested to stay away from any area that has helicopters or airtankers dropping retardant or water. These aircraft are trying to protect structures and have to be very cautious when civilians are on the ground nearby.

If anyone is still waiting to be evac'd, I'd suggest something of the same.

That's a great idea. I shold have done the same as one of the things I did was grab my $1500 video cam setup. I didn't have much time though. Hopefully nothing bad comes of this.

My tools and bike are in my car already. The only 2 big ticket items I don't have is my rifle and pistol. Both of which are in safe foster care.

Just have to hope for the best for everyone.

Evac now north of Sorrento Valley, West of Black Mountain Road, south of Del Dios (becomes Encinitas Blvd) all the way to the ocean. wow, that is Del Mar, Solana, etc... wow.
Now the fairgrounds are being evac'd, after being the safe haven....
Get out safe Lon and Jason!
Jason is tucked in my guest room now with the dogs, I feel bad those dogs like to run wild but I am mad allergic!
My plan from here is if it moves into Rose Canyon/Tecelote Canyon (as I live on Telecote) is to head down to my buddies sail boat on shelter island.... Poor dogs are freaked after spending the evening in my garage :(

Yeah, I called him. I'm sure the dogs are more freaked out than most people are.
Tecelote Canyon... I've been on run or two down Tecolote Canyon... That damned hill that runs up along the church and catholic school is a death trap!

I'm hearing Fallbrook is being evacuated on the news.
They started the evac as of this afternoon. We are already out. Sitting in a hotel in Lake Elsinore right now. yay.
From what I have gathered the Rice fire was centered over just north of Pala Mesa Resort as of about 4:30pm right before I left. I took a quick drive to the tallest ridge in my area and although there was a lot of smoke, there was no fire. Pala Mesa is about 2 miles straight shot over the hills from my house. The current wind direction as of this afternoon, was blowing the smoke about 1/4 mile norht of my house. The sky above mine was clear, but winds change and terrain factors in.
Here is my house location in relation to the Rice fire. The fire was just norht of the Pala Mesa resort near Reche Road.

The Rice fire is burning in the area near Gird Road and Reche Road not far from Live Oak Park, officials said. Residents are still being told to evacuate through Camp Pendleton.
