About two months ago i was stuck in a pack of old lady drivers on OSO pkwy just goin with the flow and i see this Jetta and think, hey this could be a SocalEuro guy, he starts making his way through the pack slowly so i decide to follow, then alas, we bust from the pack and get free.
So we pull up to a red light, it goes green and its ON, i had my pedal about 1/4 of the way down and i think he did to, 5.....10.....15......20 oh yeah we were really movin'. So somewhere down the road we gradually get up to like 90mph, slow down to 50ish, come up to another red light and before i could turn and nod to the other driver a cop comes to a screetching stop next to me and says "both of you pull over" oh crap...
so we pull over and he comes over, license reg..... you know the drill.
so i end up with a 90+ in a 50 ticket, hoping the whole time i wouldn't get a racing ticket.
So the courtesy letter comes and say "mandatory appearence" in my 17 moving violations i have never had one say that. So i start asking around and everyone was saying 30 day suspended license and $500. SO i start stressing allot.
so now i'll skip ahead to Wednesday morning COURT day. Get there for 8:30 session, 4th one called up, got a fine of $350 and 12hours of traffic school, oh hell yeah. i was excited to keep my license, hope the other guy got off easy too.

thats pretty harsh ...
there's some good cops and their's some bad cops
and just for your info, when ya say something like that, there's some people on here that are in law enforcement, and they dont appreciate that kinda comments ... especially since they watch our backs ...
im sure they understand speeding once in a while ... but dont disrespect the whole

I donate money to police charities and fundraisers every year, i don't hate 'em thats for sure, the last officer to pull me over was by far the politest ever. If i break the law and get cought i pay the consequences, don't do the crime if you ain't willin to do the time!

The key is getting those 17 moving violations over a spead out period of time and not in like groups of 3-4 over a period of 3 months. If that were the case he would have a suspended license at least 4 times and for 6 months each time...why do I know this? cuz it's happened to me! DOH! but only 3 times thus far...

After having my license for over 5 years now, I have yet to get a moving violation. (knocks on wood) I've only been pulled over once and I got let off. And I am by no means a "conservative" driver.

Entirely possible ... but then again, I could very well be trying too hard not to get caught. I know most of the cop hideouts around here and whenever I travel in the fast lane going 85 I make sure I'm not the first or last person in a line. :)

A little bit of vigilance goes a long way, that's for certain. 85 though is hardly exceeding the pace of traffic down there. Does that even count as speeding?

I know people picked out for going 77 on 15. Just depends on the mood of the cop.
But I'm not stupid, you won't see me driving down the carpool lane by myself or passing on the shoulder ... just your run-of-the-mill average lawbreaker.
i got pulled on Xmas eve for 85 in a 65, and I was being passed, I think she just noticed my blue rocket out of everything else, she wrote me for 80 in a 65 so it wouldn't be as bad. she also left my tint and front europlate alone.
however, with budget cuts in our great state, your pretty safe on the 5 or the 99 in the central valley. seemed like i kept a 100 mph pace (with little bursts up to 120-130 when there were no over passes or on/off ramps in sight) all the way back from sequoia

When I was driving up here on the 5, the family truckster routinely saw north of 100mph. There wasn't a cop to be seen until I hit the OR border.
