OMG!!! i just played for 1 hour...geez!!! graphics are great. gameplay is something else. its wow!!! you have to play. i need sleep so ima sleep soon. LOL! but seriously. this is another game you must get!!! Halo 2 was awsome but HalfLife2 blows Halo 2 out of the waters. i know Halo 2 is a console game, looks awsome in 480p. but seriously, the water in the game is like water, the characters, (that dude's daughter is pretty hot, btw) the people in the game are almost life like. their eye's follow your movement. you can pick up almost everything thats on the ground, bottles, boxes, chinese food boxes. so far all i have is a pistol. looks like a modified USP. gah!!! need more weapons!!!
current rig:
3.0 Ghz H/T
Abit V7 Mobo (800mhz FBS)
1 gig ddr 3200 (400 mhz)
200 gig HD
GeForce FX 5700 LE 256 DDR
i'm running the game with everything on HIGH, i looked at the settings, and everything was set on HIGH, go figure? so far no slow downs except when the computer does an autosave, haven't really seen too many enemies on the screen. but lots of explosions, water effects going on around me, just minor slow down, nothing big yet. need to run the FPS counter, gotta figure the code for that one...but anyways YOU MUST GET!!! it almost looks like a movie type game.

no in-game console, pressed the ~ nothing
put it in the config, im getting a steady 20 fps indoors outside its 40fps. wtf??? its running smoothly, no choppy framerate? whats going on??? i had framerate problems with Doom 3 and FarCry...out doors its fine, but once its indoors, the game slows. but with Half Life 2 its fine.

LMAO... glad to see HL2 is a good game. I'm waiting until the hype dies down and I have some flow before I purchase.
My computer won't do so well with it. I need more ram (256 DDR). So, when I get that >512, I'll buy it. Until then, groceries come first. :o
