It'll also help to clear out the smoke.

But make sure you wash your cars quickly as the rain and smoke and ash interact to essentially make acid rain (lye) and it will etch and damage your paint.

The rain is good as it puts moisture in the air and cleans out all the ash in the air, but lets hope it stops real quick. Rain does two things for wild fires that are bad. First, it creates unstable and erratic winds that push the fires all over the place and put firefighters on the line in danger. Meaning they can't go out and mop up the last bits of fire right away. Thankfully the fires here are all pretty much dying anyhow and there are no real huges flamefronts for the winds to mess with.

Rain also creates mudslides and the last thing we need is a bunch of mudslides everywhere.

You would think rain to be a blessing, but it really isn't.

Have you been fighting the fires? Or still doing EMT?

EMT, no FF yet. unfortunately. I felt really helpless this time around. Especially knowing my house was in danger. Just knowing my community was in trouble and I couldn't do any ff'ing to help made me fell pretty helpless and frustated.

My EMT company I worked wasn't running calls for the fire either. I heard a few of our ambulances were used to help evacuate Pomerado hospital, but that was it.
