I've never heard anyone complain about H&R, except on price...but they all say it's worth it

Bilstein PSS9s seem to be very popular with the E46 M3 crowd.

I thought the PSS9's were bad for the E46 M3
The RSS series are track worthy, might be lil rough for street

I had H&R Coilovers on my GTi and they were stiff as bricks. They handled amazingly around turns but as a daily driver it nearly cracked my teeth out.
They are a great c/o if you can stand feeling every single strand of hair on the road.

Hmmm. Not quite sure. All I know is that we have sold a good amount of PSS9 kits for the E46 M3 and a lot of E46Fanatics peeps with M3s are running PSS9s. That would suck if they really weren't good for it though.
I'm running Tein Coilovers on my E36 M3 and love them. I don't think that we've installed any PSS-9's on an E46 M3 though.

I'm running the RSS coilovers on our E30. They're great on the track, I wouldn't at all recommend them on the street. They're a very short piston shock, and do not have enough droop to be comfortable.

Good point, for clarification I've been running my Teins for 2+ years of daily driving. :)

It's a definite increase in firmness. Not only that, the shocks are considerably shorter, so you lose a lot of suspension travel. Going sideways up and down those driveways will cause you to lift a wheel regularly, since you won't have the same travel to keep a wheel planted.

This all depends on what you want out of the suspension. A pretty respected forum member on M3forums has a comparison of various Suspensions and intended target users. http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=180345
