This transmission insert is part of the new Stern line of performance products for the Audi and VW vehicles. During hard acceleration, the engine and transmission easily rotate and shift on the stock factory rubber bushings. This transmission support insert helps reduce this movement by stiffening the soft factory rubber mount. Perfect complement for 6-speed vehicles and DSG equipped cars as well.

how does this compare to the vf engineering mount?

VF replaces the entire lower pendulum mount, while this is just an insert for the bushing. Our mount probably isn't quite as effective, however it's a fraction of the price of the VF mount and still provides a great noticeable benefit.
