looking for a beater

something that runs, ok, and perferably in the 1000-1500 range, i found a MKII GTI but after all the work and money i would need to put into it to get it running OK and smogged i might as well finish up my MKIV any help is greatly appreciated thanks guys

It is a Corrado, and it runs good, like a normal 8v... Plenty of potential!
